Wael Kfoury

Wael Kfoury is joining the judging panel of 'Arab Idol' on its third season, MBC confirms. Wael will be replacing Ragheb Alama, who decided to leave the show without announcing the reason. 'Arab Idol' judges include singers Nancy Ajram, Ahlam, and music producer Hassan Al Shafe'i.

While some reports speculated that Ragheb Alama left the show due to differences with Ahlam, the buzz around the story in addition to some of Ahlam's recent tweets make the whole story look like an awkward publicity stunt.

Wael's previous judging experience was with Elissa, Carole Samaha and Hussain Al Jassmi on the Middle Eastern version of 'The X Factor' which did not attract as many viewers as its producers would like. A few weeks ago it was reported that MBC might buy the rights of producing 'The X Factor', but now with Wael's move to 'Arab Idol' it's unknown if 'The X Factor' will return for another season. MBC network produces all Middle Eastern versions of 'Idol', 'Got Talent' and 'The Voice'.
